Caltrans - District 7, New Headquarters
April, 2001

Project Development Process

The Department of General Services and Caltrans are committed to being a good neighbor in developing their new Caltrans District 7 Headquarters. In planning the building, The Department of General Services and Caltrans will examine issues such as traffic, architecture, landscaping, noise, air quality and other concerns. The Department of General Services and Caltrans wants to build a headquarters building that will contribute to a vital and prosperous neighborhood for living and working.

The project will undergo a twelve-month Environmental Impact Report (EIR) process. The EIR is a document that provides government agencies and the general public with detailed information about the effects that the new headquarters is likely to have on the environment. The EIR also determines the way in which significant impacts might be minimized or eliminated ("mitigated") and whether there are any alternatives to the project that would avoid or reduce potential project impacts.
